LED-fertyl project

This project is an international multicenter, cross-sectional cohort study involving men aged 18-40 years who will be administered various questionnaires to collect sociodemographic, environmental, erectile function and lifestyle data. Blood, urine, fecal matter and semen will be collected from each participant; a seminogram and analysis of sperm DNA methylation, extraction and quantification of sperm protamines, telomeric length of spermatozoa and leukocytes and telomerase activity, levels of hormones related to reproductive capacity will be performed. Markers of metabolic risk, oxidation and inflammation, and exposure to endocrine disruptors will be determined.

The project has started in Reus (Spain) and Poland, and will soon be extended to other groups in different countries.
